Why isnt Firefox fade that fog like IE?

the filter is a non-standard Microsoft feature - it simply doesn't work in other browsers than IE. If you're not happy with this, sue M$ for repeatedly breaking standards or drop the filter completely.

use another theme, or remove the filter from your theme's style sheet. To tell you more, a link to your gallery migt be helpful.
