help with a new install
« on: March 02, 2005, 12:02:25 am »

I'm trying out coppermine, and I'm trying to get it set-up on a server which I run. (I host it myself)

I set up mysql and created a database for coppermine, etc... When I get to the first installation page, I fill it out, and click next, and then the following page doesn't seem to load completely. It simply shows the coppermine logo, and nothing else on the page.

address is [removed]
thanks,

Orie

Hey  I reciently did the exact same thing and also used dyndsn.com (their great)...

Did you manually make the database in mySQL?
Are you running Apache 2.0 or are you using SSI?
Maybe you arn't listing the database by the right name in Coppermine install page...

Ummm....Really I don't know it seams very strange that it would be doing that...Double check everything...let me know what happens.

I actually may have found the reason....

see http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=1642.0

now I need to figure out how to configure php to work with mysql better....

It seems like it is configured correctly for it (?)
at least "'--with-mysql=shared,/usr' " is part of the configure command in phpinfo()
