Multiple Group privledges
« on: February 23, 2005, 09:21:46 pm »

I'm using CGP 1.3.0 with SMF 1.0.2 using the CGP bridge.

Everything works fine.... but I have one question.

I have users in multiple groups, say "posts <50 messages" and "donor".

I give "posts < 50 messages" no access priveledges, and "donor" full access, what happens?

Is the person in both categories disallowed access, or allowed full access?

I DID search the forums here, and this message does not answer my question:

http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=13130.0

Because I already have people assigned to multiple groups, I just want to know how the software handles it in version 1.3.0

I'll be upgrading to 1.3.2 soon.

Ok, I did a lot of experimenting, and I feel confident is stating that:

All fields are evaluated, and the lest restrictive setting is used.

It ignores the settings in the group called "Registered"

Coppermine doesn't support people belonging to multiple groups.  I have no idea how it would handle that situation.  Why don't you try it out and reply with your findings?

Oh yeah, maybe it's multiple groups having access to the same album.  I always get those mixed up.   ;)
