Segmented Flash SWF Files Do Not Work in User Albums
« on: February 11, 2005, 08:20:08 am »

A curious dillemma.
I could be wrong about this, but it seems that CPG does not support pulling segmented Flash SWF files from a users album when viewed through the gallery -- despite the files being stored all in the same folder and retaining their original names. (Even more strange: if you call the resource file URL directly, it DOES work)

Has anyone been able to get around this? This really seems to be a concern for people who post Flash Projects that are chopped up into multiple files to reduce download time.

Not sure if coppermine supports this feature. Please post a link for testing purposes.

Thank you for the reply GauGau.
I have placed the 'project'  in the public gallery on my site.
http://www.mmmm.ca/gallery/displayimage.php?album=2&pos=0 -- this is a link to the index flash gallery object. (From this, it should pull the segmented files contained from within the same album directory. (you will hear music when this occurs properly)

http://www.mmmm.ca/gallery/albums/userpics/10002/index.swf -- this is the direct link to the resource folder directory. Notice that the sound works.

Any ideas? I'm attempting to build an artist community for multimedia projects, and figuring this out would be of tremendous importance for me.
Thank you.
