install coppermine to an existing website with pictures
« on: February 04, 2005, 05:58:14 pm »

I have  a image hosting website with around 2500 pictures already uploaded. I would like to have Coppermine uploaded to the website. How do I install it without affecting the pictues? Is there any workaround to install Coppermine? I have checked with the web host. they offer coppermine to install on their servers for free. But, I needed to know if its safe to do it without losingthe pictures.

It's perfectly safe to install coppermine, it does not overwrite or erase pictures in the process of installing. You do need to reupload your pictures to the albumbs directory or have them moved there by your host and then batch add them if you want the pics to appear in coppermine.

Just to note, coppermine is always free, for everybody. Please save yourself some future troubles and download the coppermine package from our downloads page instead of using your host's installer.
