speed and performance
« on: January 26, 2005, 01:34:46 am »

I use Parcom.net (http://www.parcom.net)
Starts at about 6 bucks a month, lots of space (500 megs to several Gigs), PHP, mySQL, ASP, ASP.NET, Access, SQL Server, live chat support, support forum, knowledge base, loads of large email accounts... well, anyway, I like them and host several customers there as well as my own site.

Globat.com is hosting my website  with gallery (coppermine).  It's very slow to load a page in the gallery.
Please help me to improve the speed.
Do you think the rootcause comes from Globat server or coppermine 1.3.2
thanks.

depends on many factors (how you set up coppermine). Impossible to tell without actually seing your site. Posting a link would have helped. Anyway, your question doesn't belong into this thread in the first place. Post a new thread on the proper support board that deals with your version of coppermine, together with a link to your site and a question like

My site http://mydomain.tld/my_coppermine_folder/ is very slow. How can I improve the speed?
. Additional information (e.g. a non-admin test user account (if applicable) might be helpfull as well.

@kevin2004, what was the point of that 'bump'? You haven't provided the information that GauGau asked.

It takes just as long for your homepage to load as it does for your coppermine page.
This is one terribly slow server.  Nothing to do with coppermine.

Same here. It seems the gallery loaded even faster than the home page. It might be a routing issue. Here's a trace to uocmoxanh.org

Thank TranzNDance.  I appreciate your quick response.  Could you please advise me how to improve the situation (moving to new server?)

find a good webhost. There's a thread on the general discussion board that deals with webhosting. We can't recommend a particular one, as there are thousands, and your needs may differ from our's, based on geagraphy and webhosting features you need.

However, moving from one server to another (once you actually have found a new webhost) is easy and has been explained in detail several times already, please search the board for those threads.
