Newbie: Integrating Copper and my phpbb2

I tried doing a search, but I'm having a difficult time understanding some of the terms.  Here is the website:

Do I have to open a config file to integrate Coppermine with my users and the current forum database?  I'm sure its written out in one of the FAQ's, but again I can't understand everything.  Any input is definetly appreciated.
