If you want users to upload to general albums, you need to edit album properties to allow visitor uploads.

Remember: pics go in albums, not in categories. Saying that pics should go into *no category * is meaningless.

but album goes to specific category... My users don't have the ability to choose category for their new albums... I thought that the problem is due to old version of gallery, but an hour ago I downloaded the last version, but the problem remains  :\'(

Normal users can only create albums in their own user gallery. Only admins can create 'regular' albums.

is it a good idea?
what if i want my users to  put their pics in categiruies themselves...? should i do them all admins...? is there any way to let normal users decide which  category their album should belong to whithout giving them ALL PRIVILEGES...?
