gallery LOCKING UP my web browser
« on: November 07, 2003, 03:49:34 am »

this happens regularly. sometimes right away, sometimes after ive been browsing my gallery for a while. anyone know why this is happening? same thing happens with friendster.com actually. when browsing friends list, same thing. so im guessing the coppermine problem on my site is database related and has to do with images diplaying. it locks upwhile loading thumbnails. i have to manually crash explorer to get back on the internet

Eh? Friendster doesn't use CPG.

So you're having browser issues.. try something else other than IE for a change.

Coppermine works fine with IE.

If your browser is having diffculty with Friendster's .jsp pages and with Coppermine, I'm inclined to beleieve the problem lies in the specific IE installed on your computer. Your not using IE3, are you?

Alternatively, your freeze ups could be related to the operating system on your computer or poor power quality in your local power grid.

im using IE 6.0 on a PC pentium 3 500 with 256 ram. haha i dont care about the friendster problem, just noting that the same thing that happens with coppermine happens with friendster.

a few things ive looked into that might be the problem. tell me if im on the right track. i have another gallery on my site that uses coppermine and hosts thousands of photos and no problems. the gallery im having problems with pulls from a database that is used by other scripts (a forum and a few other little things) as well. should i move the gallery to its own database? the other gallery that works fine uses its own database that runs no other scripts other than coppermine. also, the only difference is that the gallery with the problem is set to not show intermediate pics. am i on the right track?
