what the integration do?
« on: December 19, 2004, 02:28:01 am »

I did the phpbb integration, but nothing seem to occurs. I just can see that i can login coppermine with a account made by phpbb.
What it supposed the integration do?
I hopped to have the posibility to have coments for images that can have replies, sub replies, forum searchs, and so on, several phpbb forum options. In fact supposed integration would mean that each image can have its own "forum topic".

Would be apreciated some site example of integration, if you know one.
Thanks,

Julio.

PD: what forum system is this? can be integrated with coppermine? Which forum is integrated with teh coppermine demo ?

This is SMF, given away by the line "Powered by SMF" at the bottom of the page, and is bridged with the demo. What you want is not possible without playing with the code of the forum, which we do not know or have any control over. Single registration and login is the main point of bridging, which is a term I prefer over integration.

Maybe.... we can create a forum "pictures" and into it put a topic by each picture, with same id number.. and then put on picture page a iframe with the corresponding phpbb topic page. ¿?
:D
(i was tryng with phpbb, that's why the example)

If you want coppermine content to appear on phpbb pages, you'll have to modify the phpbb code. We don't know the phpbb code, so we can't help you with that. BBS integration/bridging does just what Nibbler alreadyy told you: after enabling bridging they share the same user base and login mechanism - that's all. If you want even closer integration, you'll have to modify the core code of both apps individually - we're not able to do that, given the variety of apps coppermine can be bridged with and the myriads of versions.
