That is no problem at all, with this PostNuke module you can integrate your regular Coppermine into PostNuke. All you actually do, is add one(1) script to Coppermine to enable this functionality. All information is contained in the readme that comes with pnCPG.

No, you will loose nothing, no users , no photos.

Jut bear in mind that the Coppermine users are not transferred to PostNuke. There is only an option available to transfer Postnuke users to Coppermine.

Just point pnCPG to your "old" coppermine installation, should be no problem.
If everything is working ok, just upgrade the old installation. Seems the easiest way to me.

well that's what i was thinking of doing, but the old coppermine's database is separate from the pnuke installation. so they do not share 1 database. would this be a problem?

That would not work, but you could export the coppermine table from that datavbase and import it into the PN database.
All you then have to do is to adjust the config.inc.php in the includes dirtectory of coppermine to adjust the database settings.
If you make a backup copy of this file, you can safely try it out. (converting back is as simple as copying back the backupped config file.

Soon the Coppermine for PHPNuke is also compatible with PostNuke.

Then you have a fully integrated version which uses your postnuke members etc.

Although it will have some bugs, it's working in my PostNuke0.726bilingual

Cas has created up a full package of the postnuke files and the coppermine standalone: no need to download to packages anymore! Get it here: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=89658&release_id=195858
