FYI I had this happen to an install of mine.  The edit folder "corrupts" or acts as if it is not there.  I can physically see the icon and make, but I cannot open or browse into the edit folder.

Deleting and recreating it fixes the issue.

Does anyone know if there is a solid fix for this yet, or what is causing the corruption?

And sorry - to clarify, I have not been able to peg whether moving a picture (I found another thread where moving images seemed to cause this issue), or straight uploading images causes the issue.

Will goof with it more, see what I can find out.

but had a quick fix to solve it permanently

The fix you doesnt solve this issue, it still happens to me all the time...does anyone have a cron job they created to fix this that they can post?
