How to delete the comments-function

Hi, i tried to delete the comment-function, and so i read the faq and used forum search. So I know I have to delete several lines in the themes.php, but when i comment out the code from "// HTML template for the display of comments" i get an error. Can anybody tell me what to do? :)

There is no need to change any code at all.

Go into your groups manager page, and set all groups to 'NO' for 'can post comments'.  Then there will be no comments on the page.
