Javascript {menu_1} problem
« on: October 29, 2003, 11:03:39 pm »

I am running phpNuke 6.5 and Coppermine 1.1 port for phpNuke. Browsers are Mozilla 1.4.1 and IE 6.0.26...behavior is equal. We run Linux, Apache, php4.

Everything works great except for the javascript menu on the main Coppermine page. There is an "@" on the static menu, that when rolled over, reveals an additional menu. This menu is the only one that allows you to upload photos.

First.....I changed the "@" sign to menu so that someone might actually click on it. The "@" sign doesn't seem very intuitve so let me know if I did something wrong there.

Second.....when the menu did come up, it was up in my header. I adjusted to positions in template.php and brute-forced it to show up where it can be seen.

I am sure that I am missing something because I can't believe that the only link for a user to upload a photo (and other meaningful functions) would be on a hidden menu.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Your talking about fiblue3d theme.

Switch to a other theme.

That function will never work, or edit the theme.
Because the menu is floating around the page and it can never know on which position that menu has to displayed because of your Nuke theme widths and heights.

Look in the template.html of the theme :)

Different Theme

Actually, I am using the "Mission Impossible" PhpNuke theme and the "imag" Coppermine theme. I don't even have the theme your referred to. Changing to a new theme does not alter the fact that a user is supposed to know to select the "@" to display the {menu 1}.

Thanks anyway.

Are you talking about igames theme? (imag?) The @ menu appears in several themes imported from the standalone and I would have to agree that @ is not very intuitive...but if you don't like it, there are several other themes to choose from and you can always customize or make your own.

whoa....didn't mean to rile the natives.

You are right, it is the igames theme and it matches my site perfectly. I was not casting aspersions on the developers or the community. I was meerly seeking advice....hopefully from someone that had resolved the problem.

I would not atttempt to create a theme of my own because I lack the knowledge and experience of the visitors and moderators of this site. I realize that the module and theme are free and appreciate it greatly.

I have "hacked" the menu to minimum functionality for the time being, but still seek a permanent solution.

there you can edit the position of the menu or in style.css
