Multiple Hard disk drives
« on: September 15, 2004, 04:51:21 pm »

Hi,

I have a photo gallery that would use in the upwards of 400GB of space (thumbnails and all) of course my ISP is recomending multiple drives of 140GB.

How would you recommend I setup CPG in order for this to work. Can I ad multple Album folders in the CPG config file?

Any help / comments would be extreamly useful!

You can not have multiple album folders configurations, but you can have symlinks. Ask you webhost to create symlinks within your albums folder for you if you don't have a clue how to do that.
How many pics/files will there be in the database (space alone isn't the only thing that has to be taken into account).

Hi,
Thanks for the quick reply...there will be about 78,000 pictures in the database...

Is there a limit?

No limit as such, just what the database and server can handle.

78,000 pics is less than a quarter of the largest install we know of.
