Swipe navigation

(1/2) > >>

café:
Hi forum,

Is there any current method from swipe navigation within an album? I'd like to have something that behaves like the "keyboard_navigation" plugin, but one that responds to screen swipes on tablets, etc. I did come across a thread about a theme called blankstrap, however I couldn't get it to work.

Thanks,

Café

I don't know of a core plugin for standard album display but swipe is available in the HTML5 Slideshow Plugin.

Thanks Ron, is that one of yours? It's great for slideshows but I find it slow and even a bit unresponsive at times to change images when swiped (testing on an Android and an oldish iPad). The standard album view forward and back buttons seem to be quicker, but perhaps that's due to my configuration or image sizes. My Coppermine pages are presently using the mobile_dark theme for mobile pages and are currently at this address:  http://escuta.org/fotos

I've wanted to see some more mobile friendly improvements. I'm a bit busy with the rest of my life at the moment, but I'll try to see what I can come up with regarding 'touch' in the very near future.

I only discovered this HTML5 slideshow a couple of days ago after setting up my 1.6 test. It seemed so much better to view images when using a mobile instead of the standard slideshow, and being able to swipe left and right was really handy.

Feeling very pleased with myself, after testing it on 2 mobiles, I sent a link to a friend and asked him to try it - but he said the images were too wide!!

Can somebody try it on a mobile and let me know if it works or not please. It's my 1.6 test site at http://www.sharpo.co.uk/cpg16test/index.php

The standard slideshow button will start it, or the "play album slideshow" image by the album name will also start it. It is set to display the intermediate image, which obviously saves on mobile data usage. On a pc or tablet with wifi there is the Lightbox option which shows the larger and higher quality images.

Sorry if I seem to be posting a lot these last few days, but I have a renewed interest after getting better results since experimenting with the mobile theme more, and of course getting 1.6 test set up and working.

Sharpo.
