Different Languages

Hi guys

Are we going to have different languages available in the future?  Or is there somewhere I can download them and add to the gallery?

Thanks in advance

Languages are never easy. We have language files and the software complies to current standards. However, to create those language files requires translators. People from the community volunteer their time to create these. Hopefully, we can get contributions to add more languages as time passes. Currently there are German, English (UK and US) and French speakers on the team so hopefully those translations can be taken care of.

I don't have the UK English on mine just the US version... is there somewhere to download it?

Still to be created. Feel free to take a look at the CPG 1.5.x version (lang/english.gb.php) and you will see there are only about 30 lines that are different. Comparing the 1.6.x version of english.php to the 1.5.x version there are a few new strings. The 1.5.x file would be a good starting point, many are simple changes in date and time formats. If you are not in a hurry I can probably schedule some time in next week to do it. If you are in a hurry the work is very simple and would probably take you less than an hour.

Here is what I would do.

Copy the 1.5.x lang/english.gb.php file into your /lang folder on cpg 1.6.x
Edit the header section of the new file, the contributor name etc in a plain text editor.

On your desktop compare both the 1.5.x and 1.6.x /lang/english.php files using any file compare tool. You will easily see any language strings that have been added. There are not too many. Take a look and see if any need translating from US English to GB English. As a guess there are probably only a couple.

Copy those lines from the 1.6.x file to your new 1.6.x english.gb.php file then edit the translation part of the string as required.

Test your new file, then share your work here.
