EXIF lost when resizing
« on: October 11, 2016, 01:01:01 pm »

Hello
I'd like to implement the auto resizing function, but if I try with GD Version EXIF data are lost, and if I try with Imagemagick then upload it is not possible as it says: "Critical error: Unable to create thumbnail or reduced size image."!
May anyone help?
Thanks

That's a known issue when using GD. As ImageMagick failed, check if it is installed on your server at all.

Thanks for your reply André
I realised about that after I opened this thread. And I also found in the Documentation that it is not possible to install ImageMagick if you are subscribing to a webhost, so it seems there is not any possibility of resizing through the gallery and keeping the EXIF data  ::)

Some webhosts do have imagemagik already installed and you just need to select the correct path. Some allow it to be enabled in their cpanel. Might be worth speaking to your host and seeing what they say.
