Repeated mass-import of files in folders and subfolders
« on: December 09, 2015, 09:56:45 am »

I have about 50.000 images which are in several folders and subfolders.
Some of them were uploaded to coppermine with FTP. The pictures remained in the same structure of folders as I have it in my local archive.  The images were imported with the mass import tool which created automatically the categories and albums.

I was told that this will work only once and if more folders with subfolders should be added, it can not be done again with the mass-import tool. I don't want to test this with my installation to not mess it up. Is it true that the mass-import tool can only be used one?

If yes, are there other ways of adding many pictures saved in folders and subfolders so that respective albums are created?

I suggest to test this on a local copy of your gallery, or simply create a new gallery and test it with less pictures. If it doesn't work as desired, it should be possible to add a check for already imported pictures to the mass import plugin.
