Permissions for Ecards
« on: May 03, 2015, 11:29:56 pm »

I am trying to accomplish the following, but seem to around in circles:

1) Allow guests/anonymous users to view albums, rate images, and post comments only.

2) Allow a registered user to do the following:

*   view albums, rate images and post comments for any album
*   send Ecards from their own album only

Is this possible?  Thanks in advance.

Since I did not get a respose, I will try to clarify my question:

The ECard feature can be a good marketing tool; however, it seems to be the case if a user belongs to a group that has create Ecard permission, then the user can send an Ecard from any album, even if not their own.

Question:  Can a user be restricted to only send Ecards from their own album(s)?

Topics (threads) merged.

Don't double-post
Don't start more than one topic with the same question. Postings that you compose as a reply to your own posting to clarify your previous posting are not being considered as "double-postings", so you can easily add information that you failed to post in the first place by replying to your own posting.

Don't cross-post
Don't ask your question as a reply to several threads - this only clutters the board and causes double moderation effort.

No thread-hijacking
If someone has started a thread, describing his/her issues in detail and asking for support, it's not a bright idea to hijack this thread and reply there, asking for support on your issues. When in doubt, start a thread of your own for your individual issues.

No is not possible.

That's not possible out of the box, but could of course be achieved with some code modification (maybe also via the plugin engine, but I haven't checked that). Unfortunately I've currently just very limited spare time and some more important tasks than individual requests, so you either need to wait since me or someone else creates working code or create it yourself.
