Missing files
« on: June 13, 2013, 09:30:21 am »

I run a fansite called TheBeyonceWorld.com which was fomally BeyonceWorld.net and when we had to make the transition we had to upload the gallery all over again and some files did not make it. I have tried to delete the albums and have tried to re-upload blank photos to then delete it that way but it just is not working. the folders are gone in the FTP so now im just trying to figure out what to do next. here is are a few links to show the problem http://www.beyoncepictures.org/thumbnails.php?album=254 http://www.beyoncepictures.org/thumbnails.php?album=571

Not quite sure the problem. Is it just the missing thumbnails that is the problem? If so then you can use the admin tools to re-generate the thumbnails

Some of them are just missing thumbnails but some of them are missing the whole file all together http://www.beyoncepictures.org/displayimage.php?album=254&pid=4740#top_display_media

It is not an easy task. If you have a backup then you could restore that. All the DB does here is provide pointers to the files. If they are missing from the correct folders then they will obviously not display so a backup of the original folder is the best option. If not then you can re-generate all the thumbs and intermediate files as per before. For the missing file you can use the file replacer plugin and restore the missing images.

When you moved your gallery did you remember to run update.php? If not run that now before proceeding with any of the above.

Ok so here is where i am now, i dont have the backup because the admin added the backup when we made the transition of sites and she is nolonger around so what i did was when u said 'the admin tools to re-generate the thumbnails' i went to find it and found what is now saying 'Updating thumbnails and/or resized images, please wait...' as its updating so im guessing thats it, most of them have folders so they are updating but for the ones that dont they are turning out like this http://www.beyoncepictures.org/thumbnails.php?album=254

If I understood correctly you want to remove the missing files from your Coppermine gallery. Is this correct?
