Coppermine 1.3.0 (stable) released
« on: June 10, 2004, 04:51:28 pm »

Coppermine 1.3.0 released
Finally cpg1.3.0 has been released as "stable" (recommended for productive use) - you can download it here: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=89658&package_id=98538&release_id=225470

Thanks
I wanted to say a big "thank you" to all who participated in this release: the coppermine dev team, the translators and testers and everyone who contributed (in one way or the other) to it. Great job!

Support
We started this new cpg1.3.0 support section you're currently browsing (with some sub-boards) - if you're looking for support, make sure you have read the documentation that comes with the package and that you have searched the board before posting (pay special attention to the sticky threads on each board). If your question hasn't been answered already, please post on the appropriate sub-board, if applicable.

Updating/Upgrading
Please refer to the documentation to learn about how to upgrade your version of Coppermine to this release. Users of the public beta (cpg1.3.0beta) should be aware that they need to update their install as well, as there have been quite some bugs that were discovered and fixed since the beta has been released.

awesome! I am upgrading our gallery right now... users will go crazy once they see the multiple photo upload.

The more I am working with cm the more I love it - you guys did/do a fantastic high quality job (I was comparing several galleries, in particular cm with gallery2 for months before deciding on cm) - cm is one of the very few codebases providing a pleassure while browsing through the code (although I am just starting to understand parts of it)

thank you all for this nice software!

just one thing:
could someone post information about the differences between 1.2 and 1.3 so that people, like me, may know what the improvements in version 1.3 are before they upgrade?
(if there is already such information i didn't find it).

thank you!

There's a few other bits too, such as full support for multiple group memberships and SMF integration, I've been somewhat lax at updating the ChangeLog, sorry :-[

Thank you so much.  I have been using Coppermine for over a year now, and the 1.3 dev since it's release.  There have been many little things that have bothered me, and many that have excited me.  Now that this stable version has been released, I can finally stop worrying.  The CPG team is amazing, and your hard work is appreciated.

Thank you for your time and effort guys!

Very nice upgrade from old version. I love the ability to add video thumbnails!! :)

Right now I'm trying to setup history stuff for thumbnails so that they have different colored borders around them after they have been viewed.  I think this would be a nice thing to have on next version.

Hmm.. found the first bug methinks.

Upgraded to 1.3 final just then, has it integrated with IP1.3

Chosing upload aprroval gives me a blank page (i believe this is an mysql-problem though... Once i've changed the unapproved to apprved through mysql it works again. But than again.. I have 43677 images)

Setting up debug mode for admin makes the menu and random images for waterdrop theme disappear.

No, your not the first   :)

Chosing upload aprroval gives me a blank page (i believe this is an mysql-problem though... Once i've changed the unapproved to apprved through mysql it works again. But than again.. I have 43677 images)

I fully tested this on my site, and it all works as expected.

Setting up debug mode for admin makes the menu and random images for waterdrop theme disappear.
Again, it all works as expected on my test setup.

Have you made any changes to the theme?

bump just wanted to say how easy the upgrade from 1.2.1 -> 1.3.0 went.  I am very impressed with the quality of work you guys have been doing.  I wish I had the programming/scripting skills to make a direct contribution, but at the very least I will send in as many bug reports as I can.  Thanks again!
