[Closed]: What to do after installation?
« on: April 16, 2010, 09:29:30 pm »

Brand new to Coppermine as of 24 hours ago.  Thought I had a good handle on it...have read all docs.  I have it installed on the web server...albums set up and pics added.  All was smooth sailing until I realized I can't see the gallery as a web page.  This is probably the all time boneheaded question, but how do I get the gallery to show up on my website?  The directions ended without saying.  I can admin it just fine.  I don't know which directory or file to link to.  Thanks in advance. - Jeff

there is no site yet because i haven't built it. therefore, no link except for the coppermine directory.  it was a generic question on what to do next...on how to link to the site.  ill figure it out.  thanks for the reply...no need to reply again.

There must be a link. You can't have coppermine without a webspace. That webspace needs to have an URL. Just copy it from the browser's address bar. If you can't provide it, then you're on your own - you're not part of our target audience if you don't have webspace of your own.
Your question "What to do after installation?" doesn't apply if you don't know the link: you can't have finished the install if you don't know the link.

I would love some input also.

Just created my FIRST website with Coppermine as my Gallery. I do have pics on my website but I loaded them through my web hosting provider.
I did what the OP did, and created the albums in the Coppermine Gallery. But it says "TO CREATE FOLDERS" to add the pics.

I've tried reading the manual but it just loses me. How do I create folders?

My goal is to have 4 albums. Each album with folders (families) where each folder has pics.

Here is a link to my website.
http://www.tracycarpenterphoto.com/index.php?p=1_7_Gallery

I want it to look similar to this.

I would appreciate any help. I am new to websites, hosting, and this is my first business. So not trying to steal the thread from the OP.

Thanks

I just found the XP Publisher Tutorials from the Coppermine website. I'll try that and see if it helps.
Thanks

Don't hijack other's threads. Link you posted returns a 404 not found error message anyway. Locking.
