Bridge works but groups sync does not...
« on: February 18, 2010, 11:14:12 am »

Hi all!

I activate the SMF bridge on my coppermine installation, but I think I miss something...

Everything works fine, but when I click on "Groups" on my admin panel, the Groups sync doesn't work (or... Maybe it works and I haven't understood what it syncs! ;).

On my smf I have the following groups:
Registered
Old Skull
Moderators
Global Moderators
SiteDeveloper
Administrator

On the coppermine, after "sync", I have always the same 4 groups:
Administrator
Registered
Guests
Banned

Coppermine install: http://gallery.artistimarziali.org
Forum install: http://forum.artistimarziali.org
Coppermine version: cpg1.4.25
Forum version: SMF 1.1.11
Test user account: coptest/coptest

Thank you! :)

You probably haven't enabled "Use post-based groups" when you bridged. Re-run the bridge manager and enable that option.

It works! :)

Thank you... The "post-based groups" was a bit confusing to me, because my groups are not "post-based". ;)

I have another question about groups now (I don't know if I have to open another thread...).

I want to give to one of mine groups the administration rights. How can I do? I can't see any option to make a group as "admin".

Make them admin in SMF then - there's no reason to think that it's less insecure to give admin rights to others who don't know their way around in coppermine than SMF. The reason why you want to make them admins probably is because you want to assign moderator tasks to them or because you want them to use batch-add. Both things are a bad idea, so you better post what you actually want to accomplish. Do so in a thread of it's own, as we have a strict "one issue per thread" policy that you agreed to respect when signing up. Mark this thread as "solved", then start your new thread. Make sure that your new thread contains the needed details (as per board rules).
