when trying to upload a pic I get this:
"Warning: move_uploaded_file(./edit/mHTTP_temp_f381bc95.jpg) [function.move-uploaded-file]: failed to create stream: No such file or directory in /www/htdocs/v109938/pix/upload.php on line 1156

I set all permissions that needed to be changed.
what is going wrong?

You downloaded and installed the version 1.3beta, which as the name and docs say, is a beta testing version.  It is rather out of date, is meant for experienced users, and your propblem has been extensively discussed, and fixed.  Please read the 1.3 test/bugs board, or downgrade to version 1.2.1 until the official stable release of version 1.3
