[Request] Lock Albums
« on: September 25, 2003, 03:38:56 am »

Hi all,

A nice funtion would be able to lock any given album to prevent further uploads.

maybe enhance the function by allowing disallowing rates & comments also.

if this could be done, this gallery could become a standalone photo contest script, which by the way, isnt available as open source.

if anyone has any ideas, I'm available to take a hack at it.
I just installed, so I need to get familiar with the structure first, if anyone has recommendations on where to start, Id appreciate the jumpstart.

Thanks

This already exists: take a look at the switch "Visitors can upload pictures(yes/no)" in the album properties.
Apart from that, you're welcome to do any hack...

BTW. I feel that the "Visitors" part is misleading, perhaps better would be users, since visitors can't upload at all.

not quite - you can also give anonymous users the right to upload (maybe in an intranet would dare to do this?)

Anyway, it took me some time to figure out why registered users weren't able to upload. Visitors actually stands for Visitors and Registered Users.

Well, this is not that important once you realize the effect of this setting.
