[Solved]: IPB 2.3.6 login loop
« on: June 11, 2009, 12:36:53 am »

I have the following issue when trying to bridge coppermine and IPB:
I get a redirect loop when I visit coppermine.

Coppermine install: http://imagehost.reqtechteam.com/
Forum install: http://reqtechteam.com/forum
Coppermine version: cpg1.4.2
Forum version: IPB 2.3.6
Test user account: copper_test / copper_test

BridgeManager settings:
Forum URL:  http://reqtechteam.com/forum
Relative path to your BBS's config file:  ./board/ (I copied it over to the coppermine_dir/board & changed the database settings so it could connect)
Use post-based groups?:  0
Cookie name/prefix: req
Cookie domain set in IP.Board: .reqtechteam.com (should cover all domains)

I have coppermine and IPB on different machines. IPB is on a windows one that I have full access to, but a slower connection, coppermine is on a shared hosting account running linux which has a much faster connection. I do not want to move either to the other server.

I have cleared my cookies, and tried using IE to view the page which I hadn't used to view it before with, I always use Firefox.

The IPB2 bridge doesn't actually support cookie prefixes. You need to configure the forum not to use one.

That fixed it. Thanks.
Only thing I would suggest is having it redirect back to the image host after logging in. I can;t remember if that is possible with IPB though.
