Flickr Integration?
« on: January 28, 2008, 05:03:04 pm »

Is there any way to integrate coppermine with Flickr so uploaded photos can be uploaded to flickr also?

Go ahead and upload you files to Flickr as the Flickr documentation says. How could this be a Coppermine issue? How could coppermine upload files to Flickr?

Some other photo tools allow you to "tag" a photo with a word like flickr, and then it will feed it to flickr.

Here's an example:

Flickr appears to have an API that allows developers to come up with a feature like the one you're requesting (see http://www.flickr.com/services/api/), however there is no such feature for coppermine yet afaik. You're welcome to code such an add-on.

Ok, I found this open source tool that will allow the connection of MySQL data bases and Flickr, I cannot workout how to get it working yet.

The only way I have found to do this to date is to export to Gallery 2 and then to upload using their system.

However I am having problems with their Flickr upload tool. Some people are reporting that they are able to get it to work.

No, I am stating that the possible solution of Coppermine ==> (export) ==> Gallery 2 ==> (upload) ==> Flickr can work, but I cannot get it to work when trying to do a bulk transfer. Therefore others may have similar problems.

I suspect many people would like a Coppermine module or plug in to upload onto Flickr, but until then people like me are looking for alternative solutions.
