Red X shown whenever I upload a photo
« on: January 21, 2008, 10:27:38 pm »

Whenever I upload a photo a red x appears on the side instead of a photo.  Then when I select the album it says "Previous Photo couldn't be placed".

Website: www.tamiafans.net/gallery

Test users:

username: test
password: test

I have followed the instructions of the front page so it should show you the error when you log in.  Thank you in advance.

This is the error message I get:
Quote
The file 'albums/userpics/10002/fotosdonosti0098tw.jpg' can't be inserted in the album

Unable to create thumbnail or reduced size image.

File: /home/tamia/public_html/gallery/db_input.php - Line: 402
Check permissions on the albums folder. The albums folder (and everything within it) needs to have permissions set to allow the user the webserver runs under has write permissions.

You're running cpg1.4.10, while the most recent stable release currently is cpg1.4.14. Upgrade!

thanx for the help.  Umm I don't understand how to update the gallery.  I'm stuck on this part of it

"Install version 1.4.x as you normally would but in a directory different from the one where you v 1.0 is. Note that in order to use the upgrade script, tables for version 1.0 and 1.4.x must be stored in the same database."

How do I do this?

You're refering to the section that explains upgrading from cpg1.0 to cpg1.4.x. As you have cpg1.4.x already, that section doesn't apply to you. Read the instructions for your version - Hein already posted a deep link to it.

Read the permissions section of the docs? We can't tell you what permissions you need on your webserver setup - they differ from server to server, depending on the webserver setup your webhost has applied. If you're not sure, ask your webhost for support (as suggested in the docs).
