News: Maintenance release cpg1.4.25 - upgrade recommended
The Coppermine development team is releasing an update for Coppermine in order to fix an issue with http uploads that could occur in particular versions of PHP.The fix is not security-critical, so if your gallery is running fine with cpg1.4.23 or cpg1.4.24 you don't need to upgrade. If you are running an older version than cpg1.4.23, you must update to this latest version as soon as possible because of the security impact (the past few maintenance releases before cpg1.4.24 all were security-related).

We will let the top 7 contributors know about that as soon as we work out the guidelines of second round.
Sounds good.

I am a bit pushed from work and school, so I hope there isn't some really short deadline.  I understand you don't want this to take forever, but let it be known so that all the top 7 are notified like right NOW via email (so you can get their attention), and then tell us the guidelines later Wink

As suggested above, we have started a second round of the logo competition. The top seven contributors of the first round (Browny, cyque, h4nh4n, julala, rikhter, Tanjo, Tweak) get the opportunity to upload their contributions to another album of the demo (labelled "Coppermine Logo Competition (Second round)"). This could be the very same file(s) they uploaded during the first round, but they could come up with modified or entirely different logos as well. It's up to the finalists if they want to contribute one (or more) new files.
To accomplish this, I have created another custom user group within SMF named "Logo contributors" and assigned upload privileges within Coppermine to this particular group only.
The submissions that actually get uploaded to the competition album should be regular jpeg or png files, while the originals could of course be hi-res files or vectors. Contributors are welcome to use bbcode in the caption text to link to the hi-res versions or additional resources.

A notification will be sent to the logo contributors to make them aware of the second round.

While regular users mustn't send unrequested PMs to me or any other dev team member for support purposes, the logo contributors who are in the second round are welcome to PM or email me for further issues (if any).

@logo contributors: we're really looking forward to your excellent contributions Cheesy

@everyone else: you can not participate - please do not clutter this thread by submitting last-minute contributions.

Cheers

Joachim

Just a small question - who can vote in this second round? All or just Coppermine devs and contributers ?

@cafeRg: this hasn't been mentioned yet in this thread, so Aditya's question is valid and your remark just childish. If you have nothing to say and you are only trying to mock, then fine - you can get banned in no time. Consider this a warning.

@Aditya: hasn't been decided nor discussed yet. Currently, nobody can vote yet, as the album is only open to submissions (uploads), but closed for rating. We (dev team) have to come up with a rating policy that makes sense. I suggest requiring users to be at least member of the group "Coppermine novice" (20 postings or better) or members of privileged membergroups (contributors, translators etc.).

Excuse me ..my question was appropriate and valid too ..in regards to voting ..i tried several avenues to vote .."and rate" ..the logo's entered ..in another words i was trying to be a nice guy and member ..contribute, regardless how small my gesture. For that you shot me.

I did look thru this thread but ..sorry i guess i missed it ..shame on me.

Mr GauGau ..you will not find one post of mine ..out of line or do i call the users jerks or childish ..do you have a self-esteem problem? The only person behaving childish here is you. You run around here like a child with a new cap gun (karma gun - btw that was created for the kids at smf).

If you're so insecure and feel threaten by my dark humor (my personality) that you want to ban me ..so-be-it. But i wont be your boy. On the other hand, if you would like to show a little dignity, humility  and apologize and retract what you said above ..i will accept and extend my friendship to you. But I dont believe your man enough.

I got this disposition from you ..hhmmmm think about that. You will gather more bees with honey than vinegar.

Hmmm uh oh....

If you guys emailed me about anything, I haven't received the email.  The address I had setup in my profile is dead, and I use something else Sad  (it is updated now).

I hope it goes somewhere... the whole competition has been sort of disorderly and out of focus.  Oh well, we'll see *shrug*  Takes time.

OK, I can see that there is little movement. I'll leave this open for another week or so. For the contributors who haven't participated in the second round by then I will add their initial contribution to the "second round" album and then start the voting stage. I must confess that I have lost focus...

Clearly, I am challenged...I can't figure out how to upload or even if the competition is still going on.

None-the-less, here is my logo concept...
