Filter Menus: Guest-only / View only gallery
« on: March 08, 2006, 02:38:49 am »

I have been using this software for about a week or so now, and just started to read about the plug-ins.  There is one area which I think is missing to achieve important filtering outside of the core (via a plug-in) and that is the sys and sub menus.

I have created a small mod which I propose makes it into the core code to allow plug-ins to filter both the sys and the sub menus.

http://photoworld.andydragon.com/Files/Plugin_Menu_Filter_Mod.zip contains an EasyMod-style mod file and an example plug-in which turns the software into a simplified guest-only, view-only gallery.

Works fine for me after using these two plug-ins:

NoSubMenu v1.0 Author Donnoman@donovanbray.com from cpg-contrib.org
Disables SubMenu unless you are logged in as an admin

Final_Extract v1.0 Author Donnoman@donovanbray.com from cpg-contrib.org
Removes specified template blocks from final output

Just as suggestion:
would it be possible that with the implemention of the plug-in, the admin could specify which links to show/block?

in my case:

guests: no sys/sub menus at all
members: login, upload, newest comments
admin: all menus
