Title: Problem with mobile theme, on a mobile, of course!
Post by: sharpo on August 19, 2018, 08:11:40 pm
Using a mobile theme.

Not sure if it is a theme or plugin problem. I first noticed it with my 1.6 test, then checked one of my 1.5 galleries and that has the same problem.

I use theme switch, to use curve responsive for mobile. When I view the thumbnails in an album and try to "sort" it shows an error, the selected file/album does not exist.

Also with a mobile, if I go to home page and touch "Album List" the dropdown menu appears and then vanishes again.

Try http://www.sharpos-world.co.uk/cpg/index.php with a mobile and see if you get the same problem.

When I view the thumbnails in an album and try to "sort" it shows an error, the selected file/album does not exist.
Also happens on my local machine, so it's probably an issue with the theme.

Also with a mobile, if I go to home page and touch "Album List" the dropdown menu appears and then vanishes again.
That's because the dropdown menu usually appears if you hover over the button with the mouse. As there's no mouse on touch devices, the link is opened when hit. The same happens with the "Home" button (and when logged in with several other buttons which contain a dropdown menu). The way the theme was created is not designed for mobile phones.

As you use the water_drop theme for non-mobile devices, you maybe want to have a look at the mobile_light theme: http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,74828.0.html

I actually started using mobile_light back in 2013 but the image always came out wider than the screen, I couldn't get it to fit and lost interest trying to use a mobile - but curve_responsive seemed to be an answer, but obviously was not perfect.

Maybe there is a simple explanation or fix?

If you look at my site again theme switch is now set to mobile_light and you will see the problem.

Αndré,

Something very strange going on here, I have just looked at the image you posted above, after doing a search on my site - and it came out perfectly.

A few minutes earlier I tried mobile_light in my 1.6 test gallery and it came out too wide. Perhaps something in a cache causing a problem, or maybe it needs to through home page or something first.

Not easy doing it from a mobile, but I posted a screen shot from my 1.6 test site, now set to mobile_lite.

It has the same problem that I had on the other gallery, which resolved itself. This time I cleared the cache and went through home page etc.

Getting really confused now. The image you posted earlier comes out properly using Chrome, but not Firefox.

I closed both browsers, went into settings and cleared cache.

Then searched for that image in my gallery which you looked at earlier, but it doesn't work with Firefox, version 61.0.2

The images are attached, good one Chrome, oversize one Firefox.

Not forgetting the above problem with Firefox, something else I have noticed with mobile_light is that miniCMS is not visible. Is there any simple solution to that?
