Title: New minimalistic theme: Gin & Tonic
Post by: flasyn on November 28, 2011, 07:31:26 pm
Hi!

We have designed a minimalistic theme with sublte dark colors and a fixed navigation on the left side.

You can check out a working demo here: http://gin-and-tonic.de/coppermine/ (http://gin-and-tonic.de/coppermine/)

As this is our first theme, we would really appreciate your feedback.  ;D Especially if you find any bugs (we have tested the theme in FF, IE8+9, Chrome and Safari).

Many thanks!

Demo (http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg15x/?theme=gintonic) - Download (http://sourceforge.net/projects/coppermine/files/Themes/1.5.x/cpg1.5.x_theme_gintonic_v1.0.zip/download)

Hi Fleshyn!

I installed the theme on my site and everything seems to be working just like a charme. One thing though: When I unzipped the theme, it created two "gintonic"-folder (one folder and one subfolder). It took me a second to realise that the theme only gets installed when i upload the subfolder containg the css/php/images.

But as I said: Works like a charme now - I just love that splash of gold!

Whereas the the theme works fine on most pages, there is a problem on this site:

http://www.dcleaver.com/photos/displayimage.php?album=125&pid=4578#top_display_media

The intermediate image does not get displayed.

I already searched the forum, this doesn't seem to be the problem:

I would really your help. Thank you very much in advance!

Try to disable the transparent overlay.

I just added you to the Contributor group, so you can maintain your theme. I'll add your theme to the demo and download section asap. Thank you for your contribution!

Hi André!

Thank you very much for the feedback - we'll give it a try.

//Wow - We are honoured that the theme made it into demo and download section. Danke!

Try to disable the transparent overlay.
Of course the above mentioned solution not the actual fix, but I assume that the loader animation overwrites the "protected" image:
Quote from: themes/gintonic/style.css
.image {
    border:1px solid #666;
    margin-top:4px;
    margin-bottom:4px;
    margin-right:15px;
    margin-left: 15px;
    /* filter:progid:dximagetransform.microsoft.shadow(color=#000000,direction=135,strength=6); */
    margin: 2px;
    background:url(images/loader.gif) no-repeat center;
}

Wow - We are honoured that the theme made it into demo and download section. Danke!
We're delighted about every contribution and the demo is the best way to get an idea how the theme looks like, that's why we add all contributed themes to the demo 8)

Another suggestion for version 1.1 of your theme: at the bottom there's the button "TOP". When you hit that button nothing happens, as there's no corresponding jump label.

I am a noob at this. What do I change so that my gallery shows my theme? I can't figure it out. Is there a code to change so that it points to my theme?

I am so sorry to keep bugging you  :( But can you tell me how to make all thumbnails the same size? I would appreciate it so much!

meo0oow, please read the official Coppermine docs regarding your thumbnail question. Additionally "Nevermind. Got it working" doesn't help anybody, so please post your solution to help other people who have the same issue.

Beautiful theme, simple and elegant. Great work!

I have noticed a minor issue with the "admin items" in some situations.

When I use the "Hide admin control" or I login with "normal user", the last 4 menu items:
- Create/order my albums
- Modify my albums
- My Profile
- Sort my pictures
are shown horizontally and not vertically (see included capture)

When I display the full admin menu everything is perfect.

I found a solution for my problem, by adding the following piece of code into gintonic/theme.php.
Do not know if it's the best solution since I'm no expert at all, but it works...  8)

Code: [Select]
/******************************************************************************
** Section <<<$template_user_admin_menu>>> - START
******************************************************************************/
// HTML template for user admin menu
$template_user_admin_menu = <<<EOT
        <div class="admin_menu_wrapper">
            <div class="admin_menu admin_float"><a href="albmgr.php" title="{ALBMGR_TITLE}">{ALBUMS_ICO}{ALBMGR_LNK}</a></div>
            <div class="admin_menu admin_float"><a href="modifyalb.php" title="{MODIFYALB_TITLE}">{MODIFYALB_ICO}{MODIFYALB_LNK}</a></div>
            <div class="admin_menu admin_float"><a href="profile.php?op=edit_profile" title="{MY_PROF_TITLE}">{MY_PROF_ICO}{MY_PROF_LNK}</a></div>
            <div class="admin_menu admin_float"><a href="picmgr.php" title="{PICTURES_TITLE}">{PICTURES_ICO}{PICTURES_LNK}</a></div>
            <div style="clear:left;">
            </div>
        </div>
EOT;
/******************************************************************************
** Section <<<$template_user_admin_menu>>> - END
******************************************************************************/

I've got the theme working and it's looking great, simple but stylish.

But somehow I have lost the text 'Rollover to rate this picture'

Can you help?

Now heres a funny thing the text is showing up in Firefox and I've not done a thing.

But I have got other problems, like the T&C is a long thin list and login boxes are too small plus someones else's email address and password is in the box on both the login and registration page, the email is a customer from my store, but how is it showing in coppermine?

I'm very confused.

Thank you all very much for your feedback and suggestions – especially filippo for providing the fix.

We implemented a couple of fixes:

To change the logo just open the psd-file in Photoshop, edit to your likes and then save as  “png”-file in /image folder.
