Title: Coppermine critical error: Unable to connect to database.....
Post by: Bollie on August 05, 2007, 10:25:36 am
I've searched this forum and found many topics on this error-message but I haven't found a solution.

Visiting my website http://www.peterbolman.nl/galleries I suddenly was confronted with this message.
I can acces my 'last uploads' and 'last comments' but thats it !
I can login and upload files....I've tested this.

What can be wrong ? Thnx for answering.....

Enable debug mode in config and post the mysql error message you get (not the entire debug output) when you replicate the error.

"Enable debug mode in config"
Should I do that by logging in on my webspace (plesk login fm my host), than through my phpMyAdmin find cpg1410_config chance the value ?
Current value is 0....
If this is the correct way to do this...what value should I enter ?

Or should I do it by logging in on the coppermine gallery. If that's the case than there's an additional problem...I can log-in and the gallery welcomes me but than I get a white page and text : template error......

Oh dear....please bear with me.... :-[

If you can't login, use the manual way.

http://coppermine-gallery.net/tutorial/debug_mode.php

If you already know how to get that far, then set debug_mode to 1.

Thnx for the tutorial....I was on the right way...
Changed the debug_mode to 1.

When visiting the galleries now (after removing cookies !)  I get this message :

mySQL error: Can't open file: 'cpg1410_pictures.MYI'. (errno: 145)

You did it Nibbler !! - S O L V E D  :D

I am again stunned by the knowledge shared on this support-forum.

Thnx ever so much for your kind help !

Leaves me with the question why something like this happens....probably a MySQL server hiccup on my webhost ?
I know you're very busy, you don't have to answer this question...

Greetings, Pete

It can happen if mysql or the server itself restarts unexpectedly or due to hardware/software issues. No need to worry unless it happens frequently.
