Hi there,

I've just installed this plugin. Install went fine.

However, when I try to edit the settings, on hitting submit it gives me

Critical error
There was an error while processing a database query

However it inserts new links ok.

Any ideas? www.fatmcgav.me.uk/testgal...

Enable debug_mode in coppermine's config, then post the actual error (the query that fails). Do not post debug_ouput.

Uninstall /r einstall plugin , it seems that you have a row with 0 as an id on your plugin table
- don't forget to set yes when asking :Remove the table that was used to store settings ? on uninstalling process

Just tried it... Still throws up that error when trying to remove items from the menu.

All i'm doing is setting an item to Priority 0 to delete it, but when i hit submit, it comes back with the above error.
It appears not to be removing items from the list.

Any ideas why?

Hello Sami

in try to translate your nice plugin I've make me a little problem. I hope you can find a way to correct this.
I've installed the 2.0 version of your PlugIn. Configured it and it's works fine with IE7, with Netscape 7.1, with Maxthon 1.5.9 (Build 80) and with Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.3 - only with Opera 9.10 it's without function.
During config this I've a little difficulty with the german special caracters - it's not able to show them correct.
Generally to use the ÄÖÜäöü and ß it's must be write as &Auml; and so on. But the rcmenu don't show this correct.
It's not nice, but I can live with this, because of use the Ae for Ä...
After all this I make the translation to german. Then I upload the german.php file - and it's works.
Fine - then I won't to control the whole german.php - that's why I deinstalled the PlugIn.
The Deinstalled Message was english - ok a little bug I think. On the question to delete the table I say no.
Then I reinstall the PlugIn with the normal i-button to control the german messages.
All in german fine - but after the click on the big Install-Button a critical database error was shown.
"Beim Ausführen einer Datenbank-Abfrage ist ein Fehler aufgetreten"
= There was an error while processing a database query
Maybe the old plugin config table is the problem - but how to delete it without the plugin doing it's self on deinstall?
- I dont have phpmyadmin-rights on the server  :(
The ability to hold the old table is not fine when it's prevent from reinstall.

Any Ideas?

Thanks for this plugin.

Is there a way to turn it off for full-size pic? I use the full-size access control plugin,and want to use this and that plugin to limit possibility for guests to grab pictures, while allowing logged in users ability to download full-size picture.

Edit to add: Did i post his in the wrong spot, should this have goin in the plugins board vs in this specific plugin contribution?

Hello.

I've just installed this plugin in my website but I have a problem, it doesn't work for me. It was installed correctly, but when I click the mouse right button, the menu doesn't appear. I looked in the console errors in FF and I have a XWebMenu is not defined. I'm having very problems when I install plugins or mods of coppermine and I think that it occurs because I use Joomla and the register_globals is off, that's certain? Can you help me to solve it?

Post by: Alcor on April 20, 2007, 01:17:26 pm
I've solved it by the moment and if there aren't another solution, I will leave it this way. In codebase.php I changed

Code: [Select]
<script type="text/javascript" src="plugins/rcmenu/js/XWebMenuClass.js"></script>
by

Code: [Select]
<script type="text/javascript"></script>
and between the scripts tags I  pasted the XWebMenuClass.js, and now it's working.

Hello.

I've installed the rcmenu in my website and I want to disable it in a specific album. I've tried to add in codebase.php

Code: [Select]
// Add Righ Click Menu
function rc_menu($html)
{
global $CONFIG, $RCMENU, $album;
if ($album['aid'] != 16){
$premenu='</title>....

...
$html = ereg_replace('</title>',$mainmenu,$html);
}
return $html;
}
?>

but it doesn't work. I think that it occurs because the register_globals is off (like I said above). How can I disable the rcmenu in an album? (the album is to download images).

Thanks for your answers.
Title: Re: (R.C. Menu) Disable right click and show your custom menu (Cross Browser)
Post by: Sami on June 02, 2007, 07:08:53 pm
You need to add this if statement to rc_menu function
Code: [Select]
if($_GET['album'] == [b]Album ID[/b] ){//change Album ID with your desire album id
return $html;
}

right after variable init.

 something like this:

Code: [Select]
// Add Righ Click Menu
function rc_menu($html)
{
global $CONFIG, $RCMENU;
if($_GET['album'] == 15){
return $html;
}
$premenu='</title>
        .
        .
        .
return $html;
}
?>

Show some initiative. Every single thread on this forum that says "There was an error while processing a database query" has a reply from a supporter saying to enable debug mode and post the mysql error message (not the entire debug output) you get when you replicate the error. Please do so.

Thanks for the sarcasm...I guess I am used to it here.

Anyway this was the debug info:

While executing query "

INSERT INTO `CPG_plugin_rcmenu` (id,title,url,target,hrnext,admin)VALUES ( '1','Home','URL to your gallery index.php','_self','0','0')" on 0

mySQL error: Duplicate entry '1' for key 1

That wasn't sarcasm.

Empty or drop the table in phpMyAdmin and try again.

@Sami: Perhaps the installer needs to be adjusted (INSERT to INSERT IGNORE or REPLACE perhaps).

So I did what you said and dropped the table and it worked, but I had to uninstall it because for some reason the site wouldn't load in Firefox, I had that problem before when I tried to install it.  At least I understand how to get it installed but since it makes Firefox not even load I of course have to uninstall it.

Any ideas...it is kinda weird.

The "Target" field and the "Target of item :" field is greyed out.
Is there a way to get them active?
I need to make items with _blank target and not _self target.
I think this was possible in a previos version.

Ask this on the SMF board, as it is SMF code that needs to be edited. Something that we're not familiar with. Diabling the right-click is dead easy and there are millions of code snippets on the internet that explains how to accomplish this - just pick one of the methods designed for general use instead of picking one that was specifically designed for coppermine.

I figured that much, I was just wondering if the menu code was dependent on coppermine or if it was more universal and could be adapted to another environment

The XWebMenu JavaScript can be used with anything. Since I changed hosting providers, I haven't added the download and documentation to my website. If you want a copy, email me (it's in my profile), and I'll send you the .zip. However, it's horribly old and needs updating (and rewritten, which I'll get to one of these days).

Aye. That's my fault, and not Sami's. People use Opera? ;)

I downloaded 2.0.1 from the first post in this thread but when I install it still shows up as v2.0.0.

I uninstalled the plugin via Coppermine, I did choose Yes for "Remove the table that was used to store settings?" and clicked on Submit. I also removed the rcmenu folder from the server and verified that there was nothing for rcmenu in my database via phpMyAdmin. (When it is installed I have a table called cpg14x_plugin_rcmenu and there is also an entry for rcmenu in the cpg14x_plugins - When not installed these are gone.)

What is going on? I have tried uninstalling and installing several times but with the same result.

Also, how do I disable rc menu for the full size images?

When I enter 0 for the priority and click on "Change items" to delete an item the priority of the item changes to 50 and the item is not removed.

In regards to "When I enter 0 for the priority and click on "Change items" to delete an item the priority of the item changes to 50 and the item is not removed."

Actually, it is only the last/the 5th item that does this and it doesn't matter what I set the priority to it changes to 50. Also, it still reads "My Site" for the title and "http://www.yourdomain.com" for the URL. In other words I can't get the 5th menu item to change at all.

Why is this happening? It is a script. Is it the validator bug?

The plugin should be modified to either put html comments around the inline javascript (like this SMF page does) or move it into a separate file.

Disabling the right-click is sort-of a breach of the accessibility concept of a site. This being said: if you're installing this plugin, you embrace invalidity imo. Validity is meant to me a tool to provide accessibility as a second step. In other words: I wouldn't bother to validate a site if I was keen to keep my users from right-clicking.

Hello,
Thanks for the plugin, but i have a problem :( :
Since I installed the lightbox mod (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,49596.html (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,49596.html)) the rc menu plugin doesn't work. (site: http://www.macarenissima.com/galeria (http://www.macarenissima.com/galeria))

Thanks for reply and happy new year!

Try to change the order of the plugins.
I have lightbox before (above) the rc menu plugin. Works fine in combination.

You could try to uninstall both plugins, then install lightbox first and rc menu second.
Thats what I did and it worked.

I downloaded the most recent version of this plugin and installed it to my gallery with no problems. However, when I right click, I just get the same old basic right click menu. Nothing is customized. How do you disable right click with this plugin so that I can instead show the custom menu?? I'm usually pretty good at figuring these things out, but I feel like I'm missing something obvious...? I'm not getting any errors or anything, so I'm confused.

Yeah it's a bit of a pain in this case. I had to upload the source code in a txt file because it was a bit long. But you can find it all in the file attached. Thanks for helping me out with this by the way!

Thanks!

PD: Some support for Google Chrome?

Google it! You will find your answer. Nothing to do with CPG.

Hallo Sami,

thank you very much for this great "simple" plugin!
That's a exactly what my father wants for his site.
That will be stopping the (one) photo thief for sure.  Okay print SCRN will always working, but for some thausand of photos that's to much work... ;)

Thanks for your work!
It's realy a great community support here!   :D

PS
I hope the RC Option in 1.5 will be something like that.

Plugin is running on:

For those who may have the problem of this plugin not working after install, I had to fix the code a bit in the XWebMenuClass.js after the install. This code seemed to be a little messed up:
Code: [Select]
/* Extending Mozilla*/ if (XWebMenu.User.Moz) {    //Thanks to Erik for the text property Text.prototype.__defineGetter__( "text", function () {
    //return this.nodeValue; //Temp fix for Firecrap 1.0.3
    }
);

For some reason it was missing a line return for the first part. I changed it to this and it seemed to work after that.
Code: [Select]
/* Extending Mozilla*/ if (XWebMenu.User.Moz) {    //Thanks to Erik for the text property
Text.prototype.__defineGetter__( "text", function () {
    //return this.nodeValue; //Temp fix for Firecrap 1.0.3
    }
);

Hope that helps someone.

Missing line breaks on some operating systems usually are caused by using an editor that is not aware of the different line break mechanisms for different operating systems (newline vs. carriage return vs. both of them), i.e. an editor that is not suitable to be used in the first place. But thanks for pointing out that there is something fishy with the JS code.

Spoke too fast.

For some reason, visitors to my site can see the full-size images but cannot download them. Is it at all possible to not have the right-click action only on the full-size files? Also I have a download link under my resized image and when people click it, it downloads a jpeg file that's 0X0 in size. Any idea if this can be fixed?

I hope there is still some support on this plug in.

Running cpg1.4.26 and installed v2.01 of right click menu on my site www.haraldlabout.nl when showing the intermediate picture.
No change in the right click function in both firefox and IE.
Uninstalled plug in, deleting table and installed it again, no change, still not working.

Any tips to fix this, should be great to disable the right click function on my intermediate pictures.
