As you might find the page confusing in the first place, here's another hint: on the page kegobeer refered to, click the button that is shown below to watch the actual movie.

DId not intend to hijack this thread, but I can't find the new topic button and I need some help quickliy....
Please separate to a new topic if you can.

But I have used menalto for years..tired of the frustration of the problems that happen during install.

How is Coppermine compared to that one?  easier and less probs?  Does Coppermine have all the options menalto does?   can it do exif info?  And are there any other programs out there as good for free or that are inexpensive?  thanks..t

The new topic button is available on the sub-boards where you're allowed to start new threads. This is not the case on this sub-board, that's why you haven't found this button on the "General discussion" sub-board.

In your case, you should start your thread on the cpg1.4.x support board. You really shouldn't have tried to hijack this thread. Get familiar with this forum first - thousands find the proper board easily where they can start new threads.

Technically, I can, but I won't.

I have no idea, I never used Menalto. Read the docs to find out what Coppermine has. Link to the docs at the top of this screen.

And are there any other programs out there as good for free or that are inexpensive?
There are afaik three "competitors" in this field: Coppermine, Menalto and 4images.
