Added album populates tons of other images
« on: July 25, 2014, 09:12:44 pm »

Hi there

Please help.  I'm trying to an an album to my gallery.  We've already got 28 albums under one category with 60,000 total images.  YAY coppermine, we love this.

Anyway, strange happenings this time.  I went to create a new album, the same way I've been doing it for years, and when I save it, the album is filled with imagesw, 7 pages of images from other albums.  I've clicked on the properties to see if there's something I'm doing wrong nad everything looks normal, the edit message is even saying the album is empty, but we're seeing hundreds of images in there.

What could it be?

Did you added Album keyword to the album?
Click Properties near the album thumbnail to view if the album has keywords.
If it has keywords then all the images that have the same keywords will show in that album.
The album info is normal to say empty in this case.

Under album thumbnail you have x files, album viewed x times.
If you turn ON Show number of linked files  in Config - Album list view - Show number of linked files then under the album thumbnail will show x files,x linked files, viewd x times.

This way coppermine will tell ou if you have linked files in the album.

Thank you SO MUCH!  That was it.  A keyword from the first word of my two word album was automatically added as a keyword and that's the reason why those images showed up.   Looks like I'm set and this problem is solved.

You proabibly use a plugin for auto keywords because I don't think is normal to have keywords on an album if you did not manually added it.
Something must be wrong.

I've just gone back and saw that all 28 of my albums have the same keyword, but when I go to remove it, it comes back.
But, for some reason, it fixed my existing problem.

By the way, the album keyword that is there now is the name of the category.  Make sense, or is there a glitch somewhere?

Are you sure is the keywords field from album propeities that your try to edit and not the above fields?
Can you post a screenshot with the album properties page?

IMPORTANT. If is going to happen again (images to show in an empty album) go to Config - Album list view - Show number of linked files then look at the album thumbnail and see if it says: x files,x linked files, viewd x times.

This way you will know if are linked images or is an error.Linked images are images that have the same keyword like the album.(ex: if an image has keyword home and the album has keyword home then the image will show in album home and in the album where you upload it.Will show twice).

It is a problem if you can not delete the keyword plus the keyword was automatically added .
Is a glitch somewhere but only someone from coppermine team can help you with that.

I already told you and I really think you should:
1.Turn ON Show number of linked files in Config.
2.look at the info of every album (under the album thumbnail).
Just so you can check if you have images showing in others album too.
You proabibly have all the images that have keyword bonanza showing in all the albums.
If you see 0 linked files for every album then everything is ok.
3.Go back to Config and Turn Off Show number of linked files.

thank you allvip for all your help.

I've gone ahead and turned on "show number of linked files" and I looked at the album thumbnails and saw that there was no linked files so I unchecked it.  Everything is good.

It is a glitch, I assume, and maybe someone from the coppermine admin can check for me?  Where's my friend Andre?   :)

I just had a look at a few random albums in your gallery. There's no album keyword for me (see attached screenshot of album ID 2 - Ben Cartwright). It's probably a caching issue with your browser.

Thank you.  You are correct.

I've cleared my cache.

Google Chrome still shows the keyword and will not allow me to remove, but IE doesn't show any keyword.  Both Google Chrome at home and my office computer show the same keyword, so it's a chrome problem.

Anyway, I'm all set.  Thank you both for all your help!

Love coppermine gallery and so do all 2,000 of my members.
