News: Coppermine Live-Demo 1.5
For those who want to preview Coppermine before actually installing it on a real production server we have created a Live-Demo. It is just a package that provides a local webserver with a pre-configured Coppermine install rolled into one package to preview the "real" Coppermine Photo Gallery on your Windows box. The webserver is being started by only executing one single file, so you don't have to go through the troubles of setting up a webserver environment on your local PC just for evaluation purposes. The sole purpose of the live-demo is to give you an impression how the admin backend of Coppermine looks and feels. It is only meant to be used for evaluation purposes. You mustn't run it as a production system, because it has deliberately been configured in an unsecure manner to provide a newbie-proof experience in the first place.
The Live-Demo 1.5 is not the release of cpg1.5.x - it is version 1.5 of the Live-Demo that is built against cpg1.4.18

There is a new feature on this forum: it is named "topic solved" and is only being enabled on actual support sub-boards. It is meant to allow the thread starter or the board staff members to mark his question as "solved", using the "accept answer" link in the top right section of the initial posting (see attached screenshot). This way, others who are searching for answers to their questions can figure out easily what thread might contain answers to their questions.
The postings by the thread starter are being highlighted in a different color than the replies. If a thread has been marked as "solved", the highlight color will change to green.
The coppermine team encourages you to use the option (i.e. mark your thread as "solved") if the answer given by a supporter fixed your issues. If you manage to fix your issues on your own, please don't just tag the thread accordingly, but reply to your own thread and describe how you were able to solve your issues, i.e. describe what you actually did. This is meant as a benefitr for others with similar issues.
Please don't ask questions on this mod itself, as we don't provide support for SMF. The mod has been created by Grudge and can be found on the SMF mod site on the page "Topic Solved Mod" (and the corresponding support thread) in case that you want that mod for your SMF-driven forum as well.
This feature has been added temporarily (as a test) to see if it will help us improving the support board. There is no guarantee that it will remain permanently.
Please don't clutter this announcement thread with your initial issues. The only kind of answers to this thread that are acceptable is feedback on the mod, i.e. your reviews on the added feature. Please don't force us to lock down each announcement thread just because people reply to it with irrelevant stuff.
I have added a poll to this thread, so please use the poll feature and vote.

Joachim
