Is there a way, or a mod, that will allow people to search by file type?

You can search by filename.

Right, but if I wanted to search for all gifs or all mpeg video, is there any way to do that now? I'm sure I could hack something together but I didn't want to reinvent the wheel if it's been done before. Thanks.

If you want to search gifs then search for .gif
